It is extremely important to keep a close eye on your credit. Under the FACT Act amendments to the Fair Credit Reporting Act you are entitled to request a free credit file disclosure, commonly called a credit report, once every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

TLC's Free Budget Advisor will sit down with you and help you pull your report, explain what it says, help you determine if you have been a victim of fraud and give you advice on how to improve your scores and avoid negative credit. He will even help you dispute incorrect information contained within your report. Visit http://www.annualcreditreport.com-This option is fast, simple and safe. First you can determine if you are eligible for a no-cost credit report and if so you can view it online and even print it after they verify your identity.

Call 1-877-FACTACT (toll-free)-If you prefer to speak to a person simply call this toll-free number. Your reports will be mailed to you once your identity has been verified by the phone attendant.
